A POSSESSIVE boyfriend, who murdered his Canadian girlfriend after seeing her look at a picture of a naked woman on her phone, has been jailed for life Chelmsford Crown Court with a minimum term of 23 years.
Jack Sepple, 23, strangled and stabbed 19-year-old Ashley Wadsworth at his flat in Chelmsford, Essex, on February 1st, 2021. He left her dead in the bed they shared and FaceTimed his sister telling her what he had done while he lay next to his victim.
Miss Wadsworth had been staying with Sepple while on a six-month tourist visa to the UK.
After around three months of experiencing Sepple’s abusive behaviour, she had decided to cut the trip short, and her family had booked her a flight back home. But she never made the flight. Sepple pleaded guilty to murder at an earlier hearing. The couple had met online and been in a long-distance relationship when Miss Wadsworth decided to make the trip to the UK.
